KÜLTEPE: THE PLACE WHERE THE FIRST INSCRIPTIONS WERE FOUND

Kültepe is an archaeological site in the Kayseri province, containing the ruins of Kanish. Kültepe, the first city established by the Hittites, is one of the largest mounds in Anatolia. The most significant feature of Kültepe is that the inscriptions found in Anatolia originated here. Cuneiform tablets, providing information about the commercial relations between Assyrian merchants and the Hittites, were discovered here.

What are its Cultural Richnesses?

Through archaeological excavations, it resembles an open-air museum with temples, houses, shops, and architectural remains built by Assyrian merchants. Due to its geographical location, Kültepe has always been used as a settlement and has been one of the most important centers of trade and culture in ancient times.
