What is a Mobile Printer
What is a Wristband Printer
Mobile barcode printers are more similar to thermal label printers than industrial barcode printer models, but they are independent of any cable connection to a PC. Since mobile printers are small in size, they have a few limitations. They are not produced in very high volumes, their capacities are limited, and they generally have 2, 3, or a maximum of 4 print widths. However, these devices provide high-quality printing services in a compact package when labels or receipts need to be produced on the go. These printers yield excellent results for delivery drivers or sales representatives to generate receipts in the field, or for a warehouse worker who has to make labels on-site. Although standard label printers also create wristbands, a dedicated wristband printer offers users several advantages and a lower overall cost. It differs from industrial barcode printer models and is a perfect fit for applications that produce wristbands daily, such as hospitals, theme parks, and concert venues.
Printing Method: Direct Thermal and Thermal Transfer
If you know what types of processes thermal printers are used for, the next big concern is which printing method you will use. Compared to industrial barcode printer models, thermal printers print in two different ways: direct thermal and thermal transfer. Depending on how long the labels will be needed and the materials they are made from, one of the two methods will be quite effective for the applications.
