How To Go To Turkey?

By Air
   Turkish Airlines ( THY ) has regular flights in Boeing 707 s, DC- 9s and DC - 10s and Airbuses for Ankara Istanbul and Izmir, from Amsterdam, Athens Baghdad, Brussels, Copenhagen, Cyprus
( Ercan ), Dahran ( S. Arabia ), East Berlin, Frankfurt, Geneve, Kuwait, London, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, Tehran, Tebriz, Tel Aviv, Tripoli, Vienna, and Zurih.
   International Airlines: Most international airlines have daily flights from European capitals to Istanbul's international airport. Services to Ankara's international airport are slightly less frequent, but there are THY connecting flights.

By Sea
   Turkish Maririme Lines have regular services to Turkish ports from Ancona, Famagusta and Venice. Apart from the numerous cruises in the Mediterranean, several foreign shipping companies have regular services to the ports of Istanbul, Izmir and Kuşadası.
   Car - ferries: The TUrkish Maritime Lines car - ferry 1İstanbul" sails on the Venice - Izmir - Venice line every weak from the end of May to the end of September.
Car - ferry services between Ancona - Bodrum

  • Maritime Lines between Greece and Turkey : Island of Chios Çeşme ( ferry boats).
  • Information and rezervations : for additional and reservations contact your nearest Turkish Maritime Lines bureau.
  • Reductions : Thr Turkish Maritime Lines has reductions on return tickets and cruises for students, teachers, journalists, families and groups
 

By Rail
   From Venice : daily departure for Istanbul by the "Istanbul Express"
via Trieste, Belgrade, Sofia, arriving at Istanbulon the morning of the third day. Wagon - lit services twice a week.
   From Munich : two daily services for Istanbul by the "Istanbul Express"
and the "Tauern - Orient Express", via Salzburg, Zagreb, Belgrade, Sofia.
   From Vienne : daily service for Istanbul by the "Istanbul Express" and the
"Balkan Express"
via Graz, Zagreb, Belgrade, Sofia.

By Road
   By private car : London - Istanbul approximately 3.000 km.
Route : Calais or Ostend to Brussels, Cologne and Frankfurt; from Frankfurt there are two alternative routes
1 -) Nuremberg, Linz, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade or
2 -) Stutgart, Munich, Salzburg, Ljubliana, Zagreb, Belgrade and from Belgrade to Niş, Sofia ( Bulgarian transit visa neccessary ), Edirne and Istanbul.
One can also use the car ferry from Venice or Ancona by using alternative ( 2 ) and driving south from Munich to Italy.
