FRONTIER FORMALITIES
Passports and Visas

Visa Regulations

   1. Nationals of the following countries may visit Turkey tourists for three months without requiring a visa ; Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrein, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Gambia, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Linchtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Mauritius, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Saint Lucia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Tobago, Trinidad, Tunisia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America, Vatican, Weat German Federal Republic.
   2. Nationals of the following countries may visit Turkey as tourist for two months without requiring a visa; Potugal, Romania, South Korea, Yugoslavia.
   3. Citizens of Guatemala are given a 15-day visa at the border.
   4. Malaysian nationals holding any type of passport do not require visas for visits up of the consulates.
   5. Nationals of all other countries must obtain a visa from Turkish embassies or consulates.
   6. Nationals of countries not recognised by Turkey may be given visas only with permission from the Foreign Ministry.

Renewal of Visas Issued to Foreigners

   Tourists subject to visa exemption agreements may, on request, be given permission to stay a further three months over and above the period laid down in the agreements, if investigation does not reveal any impediment to this.
   Those who come on a visa whose limit is less than a month may be granted permission to stay a further three months on request.
   Those who arrive on a one-month visa issued by foreign Turkish mission may be given permission to stay a further month if investigation does not reveal any impediment and if they have enough foreign exchange to cover their expenses for the additional period.
