The State Folk Dance Group and the Regional Dances it Performs

ADIYAMAN :
       These dances are characterised by romantic movements, and give the best examples of cooperation between men and women.
EGE ZEYBEK :
       Generally danced in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions, the ZEYBEK symbolize courage, integrity and self-confidence.
One or more people may participate, but each one dances independently. The dancers try to express their emotions and personalities in the movements.
KIRKLARELİ :
       These dances consist of slow and fast sections, and reflect the qualities of heroism and courage.
TRABZON :
       These dances are lively and fast. The woman's dances are comparatively less abrupt.
DİNAR :
       These dances are performed in Western Anatolia by women alone at betrothals, wedding and other festivities. The dancers hold wooden spoons in their
hands. Their colourful customes and accessories make a lovely display.
BİTLİS :
       Most of these dances are accompanied by folk songs. They express manliness, nobility and unity.
ÇİFTETELLİ :
       The Freedom of movement and rich variety of figures have made these dances popular all over Turkey. They may be danced by one or more people, and by men and women together.
BİNGÖL :
       Some of these dances are accompanied by songs. The movement are theatrical and imitative, as typified by the Eagle's Dance, which  represent an eagle eating his prey while fending off the attack of other eagles.

GAZİANTEP :
       Men and women dance together on special occasions, such as wedding, betrothals, harvesting time, and when seeing off or welcoming young conscripts.
SİLİFKE :
       These dancers of Southern Anatolia and the Mediterranean coast express the different stages in the daily lives of Anatolian people. Keeping the rhythm and movements are brick and lively.
ARTVİN :
       The hardships of nature are express clearly in the dances of this Eastern Black Sea city. The rhythm and movements are brisk and lively.
ERZURUM :
       The men's dances in this Eastern Anatolian city, represent manliness and courage. The woman's dances are mostly accompanied by folk songs, and danced on festive accasions.
ELAZIĞ :
       This city of eastern Anatolia is rich in folkloric tradition. The men and women dance together. The rhythms are brisk and lively. A typical dance of the region is the
"Çayda Çıra" which symbolises goog fortune and happiness. The dancers hold candles in copper dishes in their hands.
