YACHTING IN TURKEY

DATÇA Marina

Datça is a pleasant sleepy Marina despite the considerable number of yachts that visit here.
Datça, a picturesque fishing town, perched up above the sea, is attractive with its cafes, bars, tavernas, hotels, guest-houses and shops.

Marina Plan

Go right to the end of the Datça Peninsula to visit the ruins of the ancient Carian city of Knidos, once famous as a centre of art and culture. Knidos possessed one of the most beautiful sculptures of antiquity, the Venus of Praxiteles. There ate the remains of the city walls a theatre, the circular Temple of Aphrodite and two ancient harbours.

Marmaris Marina

MARMARİS Marina AND LEISURE CENTRE

Marmaris is one of the most beautiful maritime parklands in Turkey. Here pine forests stretch   down to the shores of an immense bay dotted with tiny islands, bringing cooling breezes even ın the heat of summer.
All along the shores of the almost landlocked bay are beaches of golden sand. The calm sea is warm enough for swimming from early May to late October. You can find here modern hotels, restaurants, cafe and bars in quiet coves.
Marmaris itself was the ancient Physkos, an important city on the Anatolian-Rhodes Egypt trade route. Marmaris constrains little now to remind us of this impressive past; a 16th century Ottoman citadel and a caravanseari.

FETHİYE Marina

Fethiye Marina lies on the eastern side of Fethiye Bay. This resort has a charm and beauty all of its own. The houses look down on the little port from a hill crowned by the ruins of the fortress.
It is a delight to sail out to the island or explore the many coves and inlets with lovely beaches along the azure coast.
At Fethiye, the ancient Telmessus, there are numerous Lycan rock tombs cut out of the cliff face, with carved facades reproducing the buildings to those far off times. The most remarkable is that known as the Tomb of Amynta which probably dates from the 4th century B.C.

KAŞ Marina

Kaş Marina, although small, is charmingly set among palmtrees surrounded by mountains.
The friendly town of Kaş, with its bars, restaurants and guesthouses is an ideal place for holidays. It is situated at the foot of a mountain along the shores of a wide bay. In the town the remains of a small L'ycian rocktombs now standing in the streets of the town can be seen. Further west, the pretty fishing village of Kalkan can be visited by road. From here the ancient harbour of Patara, Where Apollo was born, the Lycian capital of Xanthos and the Lycian holy centre of Letoon temples can be visited.
