ASPENDOS
This superb amphitheatre is still in such good repair that it is used for performances of opera, ballet, theatre and concerts, as it was in Antalya-Mediterranean.

APHRODISIAS
This city took its name after Aphrodite, the Goddess of Beauty. The ruins contain many works of exception beatuy. Denizli- aegean region.

BERGAMA (PERGAMUM)
The amphitheater set on a high hill is of beauty, and the aesculapian or hospital and baths are other interesting parts of this ancientcity.Aegean region.

BODRUM (HALICARNASSUS)
Heredotus, the father of history, was born here. King Mausoleus, ruler of Bodrum and the vicinity, was married to his sister Artemis, who continued to rule after death and had the Halicarnassus mausoleum built in his her husband’s memory of the world.

EFES (EPHESUS)
It was near Ephesus that the Virgin Mary spent the rest of her life, and here that the Temple of, Artemis one of the seven wonders of the world, was situated. An importantat centre of the early Christian world and port. St Paul and St John delivered sermons in this city, which at the same time was a busy port and the world’s first bank. The town is built totally of marble, and is amagnificent sight.

Aegean Virgin MARY’s HOUSE
The house where the Virgin Mary and St John spet the least years of their lives is at Ephesus. The house was discovered by a group of tourists who stopped to drink water from anearby spring in 1891.It is situated on the top of Mount Coressos, and is the from of asmall church.Thausands of people make the pilgrimage here each year, including Pope Paul, who consecrated the area.

GÖREME (CAPPADOCIA)
The intriguing natural formations of this area became the secret hideous of early Chiristians fleeing persecution. The extraordinary conterted cones of soft rock were hellowed into dwellings and churches whose lovely, vivid frescoes may still be seen today. There are also underground cities in this region. There is a total of around 360 churches to be seen.

KONYA
The home of Mevlana, founder of the sect known in Europe as the Whirling Dervishes, is worth a visit at any time of year, but especially in December, when annual celebrations are held in commemoration of Mevlana’s death. Mevlana was a leading mystic and philosopher of the Mediaval Islamic world, who preached love of God, tolerance and humanity.

The home of Saint Nicholas, the origin of theSanta Claus legend . Here in Myra ,today known as Demre ,there is the Saint Nicholas church and tomb.


 

 

 

MOUNT ARARAT
   The Mountain where Noah's Ark is said to have landed after the Flood, Which lasted forty days and forty nights, and drowned all but Noah's family and the animals on the ark.

PAMUKKALE ( HIERAPOLIS )
   Hıerapolis was named after Hiera the wife of the Mycian King Tlephos.
   The health- giving hot spring waters which pour from the mountain have attracted people here since ancient times.

SIDE
   Here Cleopatra would frequently meet with Mark Antony and watch the sunrise from the shore.

TRUVA ( TROY )
   Here the treasure of Helen was found and the famous wooden horse was used to trick the Trojans.

GORDION
   The homes of King Midas, who turned everything he touched to gold, even his own daughter.
